When making YouTube videos you should always focus on making content for a niche audience.
"Build something 100 people love, not something 1 million people kind of like." -Brian Chesky, Co-founder of airbnb.
Make your fans happy and they will make your content viral for you.
1. Focus on your interests.
You can’t make great content if you don’t enjoy making it.
Pour your passion into something that you can share with the world.
Viewers will get to experience the passion you feel for your work.
2. Active viewing.
YouTube is exceptional at recommending content that you enjoy.
Whilst most see this as a great way to digest content they are missing out on the greatest research tool available for producing their own.
Explore content surrounding your interests, get a feel for what audiences expect and find gaps in what is currently available.
There are endless opportunities just waiting to be discovered.
3. Understand your audience.
Once you have isolated a topic to focus on and uncovered potential gaps within that space it is important to understand who that content appeals to and how best to serve it to them.
Viewers are drawn to content that educates, informs and entertains whilst allowing them to vicariously experience something unique.
Ask yourself what drew you to the topic and explore the desires of your audience so you can deliver a truly rewarding experience.
4. Engage your viewers.
To truly capture your niche and build a following, you must engage with and get feedback from your viewers.
Allow your viewers to take part in the creation of your content and build a community around your shared interests.
